Turn industry discussion into a practical review.
Dale Rogers of TowPro was a named panellist in the tender-towing discussion at Lloyd’s Old Library on 1 October 2026. The event brought together different industry perspectives on tender risk and monitoring.
The useful next step for a yacht team is a review of its own operation: the assets involved, the information available and the response expected from the crew.
Ask what the information changes.
A monitoring system is useful when the crew understands the data and its limitations. Review how the information is presented, how current it is and what happens when a connection changes.
Review the actual configuration.
Keep the discussion tied to the fitted devices, interfaces and bridge software. A supplier’s broad product description should become a clear specification for the vessel.
Make commissioning part of the evidence.
Discuss how the installed system will be checked, how the crew will be briefed and what records will be handed over. Bring the relevant technical detail to your insurer or broker if they request it.
Keep product choice and policy terms separate.
Participation in an industry panel is not a product endorsement by Lloyd’s or an insurer. Cover, conditions and any specific monitoring requirements remain a matter for the applicable policy and underwriter.
